He really made the 6 days a delight The tour was well balanced and paced with plenty of free time. The session with "Gwynlyn the Bard" was a highlight My only suggestion is that the Scottish evening on the final night wasn't needed. Unfortunately I found it tacky and touristy and didn't fit with the overall authentic experience of the rest of the trip. I would, instead suggest it as an option for those interested but I think a nice dinner together at a Scottish pub for the end of the trip would have been a much more satisfying way to finish the trip. We had wonderful time in Scotland!! It was everything we had hoped for and more . Totally was worth the wait. The absolute best part was having Scott as our tour guide. We can't say enough about the huge contribution he made to our experience perfect . He was a great story teller, knowledgable historian, and an authentic Scotsman. He made us laugh, sing(!! ) and feel his passion. He was also very professional. The car was immaculate. He handled all our luggage at all stops and made sure we always know what to do and where to meet and what was coming for the day ahead. He was especially accommodating; really reading the crowd and being flexible enough to suit our special needs. I also loved that at every stop he had a book of Outlander pictures that corresponded to that location. He knew how things were shot and the directions the actors moved for filming. He gave us photo ops aplenty, even knowing the best backdrops to take pics pics in front of. I learned so much more than I expected to learn about Outlander, Scottish history, Scottish folklore and the Scottish way of life. He was excellent in every way. Hi, Kathie. I’m happy to report back to you about our Scotland trip. Let me start by saying that it was a dream come true! We had a fabulous time and great weather. The itinerary covered the real highlights of the books and show, I loved that. Our guide, Scott Guthrie, was phenomenal, and really made the trip enjoyable for everyone. He was very knowledgeable about Scottish and Outlander history. He was an excellent story teller. He was an excellent driver. He was also very kind and accommodating to us, as he realized that our group needed less strenuous activities, as well as assistance in and out of his vehicle. He also handled our luggage nicely. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Scott was! Keep him! I also loved the presentation by Gillebride MacMillan. He was delightful, and this was a highlight for me. The hotel in Aberfeldy was excellent, with a lift!, and great restaurant. Another terrific highlight was the costume experience! How unique and fun, we all loved it. This was very special. The dinner show experience on the last night was wonderful, too, a very nice way to end the trip. Everyone we interacted with was very welcoming and friendly. The Scottish people were lovely! I had a great time on the tour even though my luggage was missing for the first 48 hours, I finally got it, thanks to Laura Moon. The meals were excellent and surprisingly creative and varied. Highlights: "Gwyllyn the Bard", Craig na Dun, Lally Broche, Clava Cairns, Gleneig Ferry, Costumes, the Highlands! But frankly, Laura Moon made everything better. She was excellent! We had a FANTASTIC time on our trip! I felt we really lucked out with the group we had, and Scott was an excellent guide. While the itinerary may appear jam packed and hard to fit everything in, I never felt rushed at a site. The morning we went went Culloden was very misty so visibility was not the greatest (which we all expected at least a few misty days) but Scott doubled back at the end of the day so we could see Culloden after the mist lifted. Dear Kathie, I can't even begin to tell you what a sensational time I had on this tour! Whenever I look at a picture on my phone, I recapture the wonder and awe I experienced at that particular site--and the tour was FILLED with incredible sites and so many of those enchanting moments. #1 - Our tour guide, Scott, was simply tremendous--so accommodating, so patient, so knowledgeable, so witty, the list could go on forever. His stories about the history of Scotland--the political intrigue, the love triangles of the royals, the plight of the common people--made everything come alive for me. #2 - The size of the tour was absolutely perfect. Traveling with only 6 other people made every experience noteworthy for its intimacy and personal touch. We had such a lovely group of travelers as well--Rosemary & Carol, Andy and Mary, Deb & Chelsea. The whole gang shared their perspectives on Outlander as it pertained to each of our stops. Even though I was the only one who came solo, I immediately felt welcome and at ease. #3 - The stops on the tour made my experience with both the novels and the series that much more magical. I actually went back and watched individual episodes that tied into the places we had visited, and I reread the first book before and during my time in Scotland. Everything now is so much richer and so much more powerful! Walking around the filming sites for Castle Leoch, Lallybroch, & Craigh na Dunn were just a few of the spectacular highlights of this trip. #4 - Scotland is a breathtaking country; it is comprised of such an amazing blend of old and new. Although I wasn't a big fan of Glasgow (too much like NYC for me), Inverness and Edinburgh stole my heart. The journey through the Highlands was, without a doubt, my favorite. The air was so pure, the sky so blue, the mountains awash with heather. (I'm not sure, but I think I left a part of my soul there because of that resplendence.) The day that we visited the Church of St. Kilda and the Isle of Skye was a perfect 10 for me. #5 - I'm sure that I could go on and on about so many other details--like our wonderful lunch stops and our costume parade down the streets of Edinburgh on the final day--but suffice it to say that this was the trip of a lifetime for me, and I am so grateful that I found your website, Kathie, and booked this tour. Selling this Scotland tour as an Outlander tour is really selling it short. I for one had never watched a single episode of Outlander but my wife is a huge fan and along with the other three women on the tour, they helped me understand why a location was significant to the program. For me though it was not about some TV show, but rather it was an excellent way to see the back roads of Scotland. We went where the big coaches could never go, saw country-side that those tourist never dreamed of seeing and sites that were far off the big-group itineraries. Couple this with the excellent guides (Dave & Suzy), good hotels, food and daily activities and this was by far my best vacation. I have already recommended this tour to many friends and co-workers. Dear Kathie, Just wanted to say thank you for the Outlander tour you created. As you well know, the star of the tour is Hugh. His ability to lead a group of highly diverse adults is phenomenal, and his depth of knowledge matches that as well. I thought the tour was organized quite well ~ I appreciated the time to get acclimated to jet lag while exploring Glasgow. I thought all three B & B locations were very nice. While I am not a fan of B & Bs generally, all were clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the breakfasts were delicious. All of the B & B staff members were wonderfully accommodating. I especially appreciated the B & Bs that had an area where you could order dinner because after a long day of travel, sometimes it’s nice just to stay in. I really loved all of the restaurants you chose for our group dinners. The food and service could not have been more amazingly wonderful.
Because of this practically perfect tour, I have memories and knowledge that I will carry with me forever.

Dear Kathie, I was on the recent Outlander Tour in Scotland from the 25th of September to the 3rd of October with Hugh Allison. I just wanted to let you know that it was an amazing experience. When I was booking it I was really annoyed that I had to book it through the United States to join a tour from Australia to travel in Scotland as it seemed crazy to not be able to work directly with them but I am so glad I went through your company. All the details you included far exceeded anything I could possibly have done without you, the accommodation, the restaurant choices and the slick organization of it were all exemplary. As for Hugh, he is the most knowledgeable and interesting tour operator I have ever had the pleasure to travel with. There were so many extra tidbits of information he generously shared with us all and he went far above and beyond what he was required to do in order to make the experience a positive and memorable one. What a fantastic trip. My friend and I took the Outlander Immersion tour Sept. 11 to l9. We wanted to celebrate our mutual BD together as she lives in Texas and I in Maryland. Kathie was just so great. She had someone meet us at the airport in Glasgow to give us directions and a cab to our first hotel. She also had a BD cake and champagne given to us at one of restaurants on our tour, She thought of everything and we were much appreciative. Our tour was just as fantastic, We had a wonderful tour guide, Dave Fyfe, Dave was very knowledgable and professional and the enthusiasm for his country was outstanding. He made us feel very comfortable and was so helpful with all our questions or requests. He just had an outstanding personality and we were lucky to have him. I had to wait a few days for my fuzzy jet lagged head to clear before I emailed you to express to you how wonderful my trip to Scotland was!! You covered every detail so thoroughly that I was absolutely comfortable traveling there by myself. The accommodations were in every case the best. I have been wanting to write about the marvelous Outlander tour. ... The tour is so well organized and full of activities—just the right amount. The group size makes it work and the van was very comfortable. I have been on the big bus tours and smaller Rick Steves Ireland tour. It was a joy to explore and have lovely lunches and dinners with a small group. ... Aberfeldy was awesome and close to town. That was a plus for me. He took us to places that large tours would not be able to accommodate. Also, each day he found a delightful local restaurant to satisfy our mid-day dining pleasure.
